First Aid, CPR, OSHA 10-hour training, and HAZMAT training are provided to
all members at no cost.
EXPANDED WORK OPPORTUNITIES
Signatory contractors work for both union and non-union general
contractors.
WORKFORCE MOBILITY
Signatory contractors can utilize their own work force or can hire from
Local 571’s union halls as needed.
LABOR HARMONY
Local 571 focuses on jobsite cooperation and harmony, rather than
adversarial relations.

Health Insurance
- Benefits are paid in at a set, hourly straight time rate
- NO EMPLOYER ADMINISTRATION OF THE HEALTH CARE PLAN
Pension
- All eligible employees of the corporation earn vesting credit for
their time employed with the corporation, if they do not have a prior
Initial Participation Date in the Central Pension Fund
- Benefits are paid in at a set, hourly straight time rate
- Employer does not incur administration costs for the pension plan
Wages
- Fixed costs: know in advance what the increases will be, if any –
including the health care cost variable
- Only pay additional costs on wages (SS, unemployment, workers comp.)
- Registered apprentices receive rates established in the
Apprenticeship Program, which are lower than prevailing wage rates
